Between persisting and perspiring here we are at the end of July. Today in a pleasant turn of events, we sat on the porch and enjoyed a delightful, refreshing rain. It began softly and lingered right into the afternoon. Such a needed and pleasant reprieve.
But to the point – new and beautiful things are here!
From the Loom
Sarah finished off her wool rug weaving for the season with this fun and colorful rug (dimensions and price here) and a Krokbragd pillow cover – a 76th birthday gift for Mom.
She’s also learning how to spin so keep an eye out for new weavings featuring her own hand-spun yarn. In the meantime, she has the loom dressed for more of her popular 100% cotton tea towels.

New Woodland Friends
Speaking of the blessing of rain in this hot July weather, we have some new Woodland friends who love fishing and wear raincoats with toggle-buttons.
As you can see they have had a great day fishing. The little bear has tucked his raincoat inside his suitcase.
We also have a first time polar bear in a magnificent winter snow sweater and another popular Highland Coo with a surprise in his pocket.
From the Wood Shop
A single stem oak vase. Just so you can see… the chunk of wood that becomes an incredible vase with a star-burst.
Take a minute to observe all the fine intricacies of the wood. We marvel at God’s creation all around us, but how often do we stop to smell the pines, the roses, the lavender… and look closely and lovingly at the tiny petals, the wood grain, and to take a deep breath and say a prayer of thanks for all He has done for us.

If you live in Oklahoma have you ever been to Will Rogers Botanical Gardens? I went there in September to pick up my grandchildren and ended up being early, so I strolled around the park and was astounded at the lush colorful gardens that caught my eye. It truly is worth seeing.
If you have ever been to Glacier National Park you will always remember the gorgeous turquoise color of the river and lake water.
And who doesn’t dream of sailing away on a beautiful starry night, star light reflecting in the water?

A Side Note About Summer ~
One of my favorite things are the fireflies or lightning bugs that light up the evenings. My nieces and nephews love them too, and on warm, muggy evenings we take jars and try to bring their light inside.
But light is never meant to stay inside. As with many things in life we have to hold them gently and let them go.

We are excited to have more of Addi’s watercolor bookmarks for the autumn opening. Did you know that the water she uses on her bookmarks comes from actual raindrops? Here she is writing scriptures on the back. These beautiful bookmarks have become a favorite item in our shop!
